Landcorp Farming is a State-owned Enterprise, owning or leasing 376,156 ha of land. With 122 properties and 1.5 million stock units, we are New Zealand’s largest farming operation.
We have a vacancy for an experienced machinery operator general on our Mawheraiti (1420 ha) and Ahaura (320 ha) Farms located in the Grey Valley, West Coast, where we are breeding and finishing deer and beef. The successful applicant will work alongside the Farm Manager in all aspects of the agriculture and stock feeding programme. You will also be required to help with maintenance of the farms and some stock work at times.
The right candidate will:
- Be motivated and enthusiastic
- Have the ability to maintain a range of machinery to a high standard
- Have knowledge of modern farming practices
- Have good communication skills
- Have a current New Zealand full driver’s licence
A well maintained family home is available at the Ahaura Farm, located 8 km from Ahaura, 40 km from Greymouth and 30 km from Mawheraiti Farm. The primary school bus comes to the gate and it is 4 km to the secondary school bus.
