The current demand of 500,000 ewes, 35,000 beef cows and 65,000 hinds are the driving force behind Landcorp's Sires of proven value™ . Selection of sires that increase valuable production traits contributes long-term economic benefit to Landcorp's commercial farming business.

With the genetic merit of Landcorp's sires well established and the supply of quality sires assured, Landcorp is now breeding sufficient numbers to supply Sires of proven value™ to commercial farmers who share the pursuit of performance gains through animal breeding.

Strategic breeding with maternal and terminal lines allows commercial farms to use the differentiated strength of Landcorp genetics to optimise their farm returns.

Landcorp's sheep breeds, Romney and Landmark as maternal and Lamb Supreme and Texel as terminal breeds are complemented by the company's Angus and Simmental cattle, and deer herds based on Red and Wapiti.
