Landcorp offers four scholarships at both Massey University and Lincoln University for agricultural students in their final year of study. The scholarships are offered in recognition of New Zealand’s economic need for first class tertiary educated agriculturalists. Scholarship recipients are not bonded to work for Landcorp, but the Company does offer them employment in either farm or office-based roles.
The Company currently offers four scholarships to young people attending either Telford Rural Polytechnic or the Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre. Scholarships are typically awarded to enthusiastic and hard working young farmers who see value in continued learning throughout their careers. As with the university scholarships recipients are not bonded to work for Landcorp, but given Landcorp’s geographic spread and scale a young man or woman can join Landcorp and literally see New Zealand.
Some graduates at the completion of the Future Farmer Programme on Landcorp’s Aratiatia Station near Taupo may gain scholarships. Those that demonstrate 'excellence' in all aspects of farming theory and practice, may be awarded a scholarship and job opportunity on one of Landcorp's farming operations.
For more information about joining the Future Farmer Programme you can contact Agriculture New Zealand on 0800-4-SKILLS (0800-4-754557) or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
