Operations

Landcorp Farming's extensive and diverse operations are among the best performing in the sheep and beef, dairy and deer sectors of New Zealand agriculture.

In each sector, the Company strives to maximise productivity through:

  • ensuring the best use of individual properties given their location, land type and climate;
  • sustained improvement in livestock genetics through sheep, beef cattle and deer breeding programmes;
  • expert pasture and feed management;
  • application of new technologies and farming knowledge to maintain best practice;
  • ongoing training and development of farm managers and staff;
  • integrated management of properties within each sector;
  • close attention to the sustainability of farming systems and methods; and
  • use of industry "best practice" methodology.

These charts show the growing diversification in farming operations, productivity gains and total production growth over time.
