Landcorp Farming is a State-owned Enterprise, owning or leasing 374,948 ha of land.  With 105 properties and 1.5 million stock units, we are New Zealand’s largest farming operation.

 

Situated in the Te Anau basin, Freestone is a 630 ha property running 8900 stock units.  Our core business is the Landmark maternal sheep breeding programme and the Wapiti terminal sire breeding programme, with supporting commercial sheep and beef stock units.  This is a great career development opportunity for someone with a positive and proactive nature and previous farming experience to become involved with Landcorp’s performance recorded animal breeding programmes.

  

The right candidate will 

• Be enthusiastic and motivated
• Have good recording skills
• Have good communication skills
• Have 2-3 working dogs
• Have some computer skills and a willingness to learn new systems

Previous experience in working with deer is preferred.
