Landcorp Farming is a State-owned Enterprise, owning or leasing 374,948 ha of land.  With 105 properties and 1.5 million stock units, we are New Zealand’s largest farming operation.

 

Rotomahana, located between Rotorua and Broadlands, comprises two separate units totalling 990 ha.  This 7800 su property runs 1500 ewes, 635 breeding cows and supporting stock.  The cows are part of the Landcorp Angus Breeding Programme which is pivotal to providing sires to Landcorp properties within the central North Island.

 

The right candidate will have:

- Staff management and motivational skills

- Excellent pasture management skills

- Advanced technical skills

- Budgeting skills

- Computer literacy and a willingness to learn new systems 

It will be advantageous to have experience with breeding programmes. 

The Farm Manager is accountable to the Business Manager Genetics and has responsibility for recruitment and management of their own team.

 

The position will include a comfortable three bedroom home, close to all amenities, recreational activities, primary school and school buses.  The start date is negotiable; ideally the end of April.
