Hon. Jim Sutton
Chairman
CNZM.

Mr Sutton joined the Landcorp Board on 1 August 2006 as chairman. Originally farming on his own account on a sheep, beef and mixed crop property in South Canterbury, he became Member of Parliament for Waitaki (1984-90). He subsequently represented Timaru (1993-96); Aoraki (1996-2005) and was on the Labour List (2005-06). He has been Minister for Trade Negotiations, Agriculture, Forestry, Biosecurity and Rural Affairs. Since then he has served as a roving Trade Ambassador for New Zealand.

Warren Larsen
Deputy Chairman
CNZM, BBS, CA, CMA, MAgSc(Hons), FNZIM, AF Inst D, DSc(Hon).

Mr Larsen was appointed to the Landcorp Board in May 2006 as Deputy-Chairman. He is currently Chairman of CentrePort Ltd, a director of Air New Zealand and several other companies; and Chairman of the Massey University Foundation. He was formerly Chief Executive officer of, respectively, Bay Milk Products and the New Zealand Dairy Board and was closely involved with the creation of Fonterra. He is an alumni of the INSEAD Business School and has had significant international business and marketing experience, particularly in the pastoral export industries.

A W (Bill) Baylis

Mr Baylis was appointed to the Landcorp Board in November 2009. He is currently a director of a number of Companies including Real Journeys Ltd (Chairman) and Port of Tauranga. He has had considerable experience in the wider Agri Sector having been a Director of Affco Holdings Ltd, PGG Wrightson Ltd (Chairman), Dairy Meats (NZ) Ltd (Chairman), and Australasian Food Holdings Ltd (Chairman).

He is currently Chairman of the Accreditation Board of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand (Inc).

 

Falcon Clouston
BAgSc, AF Inst D.

Mr Clouston is a Wellington-based investment banker and business consultant, appointed to the Landcorp Board in May 2006. Mr Clouston has undertaken extensive consultancy to rural businesses. He has previously been a member of the Government Task Force on Private Provision for Retirement and of the Securities Commission. Mr Clouston's other current directorships include Abacus BioTech Ltd, Palliser Estate Wines of Martinborough Ltd, RECT Funds Management Ltd and Chairman, NZ Fast Forward Fund Ltd.

Traci Houpapa

JP, MBA.

 

Miss Houpapa joined the Landcorp Board on 1 May 2010. Traci is a Principal of THS & Associates Ltd and has specialist expertise in strategic and business planning, and has worked extensively in the area of social and economic initiatives where each sector complements and supports sustainable and ongoing development. She sits on a number of trusts and incorporations providing business and planning advice and support. Traci’s interests include all sports, politics, art and music.

   

Marise James
CA, Nuffield Scholar.

Mrs James is a chartered accountant, appointed to the Landcorp Board in April 2003. She has 20 years experience in the dairy industry, first as a sharemilker and then as a farm owner. Mrs James is a partner in a New Plymouth-based accounting firm and is also a director of Farmers Mutual Group Ltd. She was a former board member of Dexcel Ltd and the Fonterra Cooperative Group Ltd.

Jane Mitchell
BAgSc, Nuffield Scholar.

Ms Mitchell has extensive experience in sheep, beef, deer and small seeds farming in Marlborough and Central Otago. With a resource management background, she has been active in judging environmental awards and has participated in focus/monitor farms and been a member of various farming sector organisations. She is currently a member of the Otago Polytechnic Council and is completing studies for a Masters qualification at Lincoln University.

Christine Williams

 

 

Basil Morrison
CNZM JP.

Mr Morrison comes from a dairying background and is currently a director/shareholder of Waiuta Farms Limited. He has served as a local government elected member for the last 37 years (i.e. Ohinemuri County Chairman, Mayor of the Hauraki District, Councillor Environment Waikato and recently retired President of Local Government New Zealand (2000-2008)). Mr Morrison farmed on his own account at Hikutaia from 1969 to 1991.
